Ghost Writer

Congratulations to my friend and colleague Jeanne Theismann for taking home a prize from the Virginia Press Association for the headline "Ghost Writer." The judges said Jeanne's headlines are "solid stuff, definite attention getters, to the point." Her story, which is linked here, is also top-notch stuff. Kreb recounts her run-ins with the ghost of Laura Schafer, who died in an 1868 fire. Schafer’s fiance later committed suicide in a nearby ally, and the house has never been the same…
